| Will
began his musical career playing the euphonium with the Montgomeryshire
Youth Brass Band at the age of ten. He also played with the local Llanidloes
and Newtown Bands. From the outset Will was encouraged to play as a soloist,
and he performed on a very regular basis in this way at Eisteddfods, concerts
and Church services. He pursued this interest when, in 1990, he moved to
Canterbury to study for a music degree when he majored in performance and
composition. It was at this time that Will started playing with the Canterbury
Brass Band and four years ago he took over as the musical director. Will
still plays frequently as a euphonium soloist and has recently produced
a CD of solo music. He also plays as a freelance musician playing euphonium
or trombone with various bands in the South East. For the last eight years
Will has been employed as a Primary School teacher. |
